The Blue Depot - "where you leave your puddles behind"
Originally I began working on a sketch of Billie Holiday - "The Lady Sings The Blues", but like everything else this week nothing seemed to come out right. I felt like giving up and passing on this weeks entry. But, something inside me kept nagging to participate. I can totally relate to this character this week at the Blue Depot. I am currently trying to leave my puddles behind and try to regroup myself- It's been a very hard week. I'm looking forward to some sunshine!

Cheer up, Wilnara! Your blues helped you create a lovely and touching illustration. i really enjoy your elongated and elegant figures. I think you should revisit your Billie Holiday illo some other time...I think her image and your style would be a wonderful match!
i have been at that depot a few times myself, luckily the right bus comes truckin' along eventually. i like her outfit with the extra details and her very long neck. :)

Elegance in the face of the blues - I hope that knowing this illustration and your poignant prose has brought smiles helps soften the sting of a bad week. I appreciate you not giving up and pushing through - we're the better for it!
Same here... sometimes it means you do need to rethink what you are and where you are at! Good going, mark of a pro, keep on keeping on, even when da fickle muse is sleeping in:)))

I know your Billie Holiday will be also. Just take your time. I don't get up set when a piece of work isn't coming out anymore because for me it means it needs to incubate some then something comes along that changes the whole perspective. It will for you too.
